Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Swissotel Corniche Park Towers Doha, Qatar. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to create exceptional dining experiences for our guests while managing and mentoring a talented team of culinary professionals.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items, focusing on both local and international cuisines
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff to foster a positive and productive work environment
  • Manage inventory, food cost control, and budget adherence
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and sanitation
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation techniques
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth service delivery and address any guest concerns
  • Participate in special events, promotions, and culinary initiatives to enhance the restaurant's reputation
  • Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate innovative techniques into menu offerings
  • Support the Executive Chef in administrative tasks, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and reporting

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of well-rounded experience in luxury hotel or high-end restaurant kitchens
  • Proven leadership experience in a culinary setting
  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Strong knowledge of Middle Eastern and international cuisines
  • Excellent food safety and sanitation practices
  • Proficiency in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English; additional languages, especially Arabic, are a plus
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Valid work permit for Qatar or eligibility to obtain one
  • Familiarity with local food regulations and standards in Qatar
  • Previous experience in a hotel or resort setting is preferred
