Shift Person

The Shift Engineer is responsible for the physical plant of the building – Boilers, Chillers, Heating, Cooling, Rooms Maintenance, Equipment Maintenance, Pools & Spa, as well as resolving guest issues.

What you will be doing:

• Completion of all assigned Preventative Maintenance Work Orders and Daily Work Orders in a timely and efficient manner.  Will also take daily readings during their shift of the Boiler house, Chiller Plant, Water Entry Room, etc.
• Working closely with the Rooms Division teams, and all hotel departments to improve service delivery and efficiency
• Providing excellence in guest service and acting as a liaison between the hotel and our guests
• Ensuring a prompt response and follow-up to all requests by guests and employees, with a drive to not only “fix” the problem but implement changes to prevent re-occurrence
• Responsible for monitoring/changing appropriate set points and control systems in our Building Automation System and Rooms INNCOM software
• Communicating and developing relationships with supporting departments
• Key member of the Emergency Response Team
• Ensuring that all equipment is well maintained and in proper working order
• Participation in committees/communication meetings, including daily meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a facility maintenance position an asset
• 5th Class Power Engineer designation is required
• Other trade qualifications, swimming pool maintenance and experience with building automation systems would be and asset
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40+ lbs
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.  The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
