As a Seamstress, you will make our guests and colleagues feel special by ensuring uniforms are well fitted and maintained, and guest garments are handled with special care.

Hourly Rate:  $26.46

What you will be doing:

• Issue, perform alterations, process and repair uniforms which include taking accurate measurements during fitting to ensure proper fit, labeling garments, issuance tracking, sewing, embroidering and serging
• Sort and organize uniforms
• Perform Inventory on uniforms on a monthly basis
• Assist in the issuing and processing of dry cleaning and guest laundry
• Operate laundry equipment to facilitate the cleaning, pressing and steaming of colleague uniforms and in-house and guest laundry as required
• Manual folding of various garments
• Organize time so all side work is completed according to shift demand
• Maintain proper usage of supplies and equipment; report any malfunctioning equipment

Your experience and skills include:

• One year of sewing experience is required
• Must be able to perform alterations, repair garments, sew, embroider, and serge
• Warm and caring personality; previous housekeeping experience an asset
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language

Your working environment:

• Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.
• Must be able to push and pull 100 lbs.
• Constant standing, sitting and reaching
• Frequent crouching, bending, stooping, and kneeling
• Requires grasping, writing, repetitive motions, listening, hearing and visual acuity
