Job Description

Resort Doctor

SUMMARY OF POSITION

To deliver strategic, added value interventions and act as a business partner to ensure the achievement of the hotel objectives.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:   

  • Conduct medical consultations for Guests and Team Members.
  • Examine and give medical opinions or diagnosis of illness.
  • Coordinate with Security Manager, on matters relating to Emergency Medical Response protocols.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and request for diagnostics (laboratory, x-ray, scan, etc.).
  • Give referrals to tertiary health facilities if deemed necessary.
  • Coordinate with Specialists and Hospital administrators for patient prognosis and treatments.
  • Conduct refresher training on Basic First-Aid, CPR, AED, health awareness and hygiene standards to Team Members
  • Report relevant health issues occurring among Guests and Team Members.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g. stitching of wound, incision and drainage, wound debridement).
  • Create and implement policy or standard operating procedure for Resort Clinic.
  • Prepare monthly clinic report (Team Members and Guest consultations) to be sent to Human Resources Manager, Executive Assistant Manager and General Manager.
  • Ensure medical supplies are sufficient for operations at all times.
  • Assist in the food handler’s hygiene screening.
  • Conduct drug testing and alcohol testing as per company’s policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all consultations and medical records at all times.
  • Attend to all medical emergencies, (on call 24/7).
  • Provide treatment to patients at locations other than the clinic if required.
  • Ensure all clinic personnel have valid registration from the Maldives Medical council.
  • Accompany patients to Thinadhoo Health Centre or Regional Hospital for medical treatment if required.
  • Adhere to all resort safety policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Adhere to guidelines outlined in the Sick Leave policy.
  • Carrying out any other duties as directed by your Manager.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Health and Safety

  • Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified
  • Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
  • Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
  • Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying Hotel Regulations by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes etc.
  • Ensure all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others
  • Use safe manual handling techniques and practice safe work habits following Accor Health, Safety and Environment policies, maintain procedures to minimize our impact on the environment and prevent pollution.

Confidentiality

  • Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of all intellectual property and data bases, both hard copy and electronic. Adhere to Accor Internet and Email policy
  • Ensure Hotel, Customer and Staff information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a practicing doctor, with experience in emergency care and general practice.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Maldives will be an added advantage.
  • Strong diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Outgoing and creative, excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong multicultural awareness and ability to

  • Willingness to work flexible hours
