Job Description

Position Summary:

Rixos Properties is seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality & Sustainability Manager to lead and oversee our Quality and Sustainability initiatives across the property. The role will involve managing and improving quality control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving sustainability programs aimed at minimizing our environmental footprint. The Quality & Sustainability Manager will collaborate with various departments to promote high standards of service and environmental responsibility, ensuring that Rixos Properties continues to lead the way in quality excellence and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management Systems: Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality management systems across all areas of the property, ensuring that Rixos Properties maintains the highest standards of guest experience, service, and operational excellence.
  • Sustainability Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy, focusing on energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and eco-friendly sourcing to minimize the property’s environmental impact.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international quality and sustainability regulations and standards. Maintain documentation and records to support regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Training and Awareness: Oversee the training and development of team members in quality management practices and sustainability initiatives. Promote a culture of quality and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
  • Quality Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular audits of property areas, including guest rooms, kitchens, public spaces, and back-of-house operations, ensuring compliance with quality and hygiene standards. Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Sustainability Programs: Manage sustainability initiatives, including waste management, energy efficiency programs, and green certification processes. Track progress and performance toward sustainability goals and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration with Departments: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage) to integrate quality and sustainability practices into daily operations and achieve cross-departmental goals.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports to the General Manager on quality and sustainability performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Guest and Team Member Satisfaction: Work to ensure that quality standards not only meet but exceed guest expectations. Implement feedback loops from both guests and team members to enhance services and sustainability practices.
  • Cost Management: Manage the budget for quality and sustainability programs, identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining high standards and meeting sustainability objectives.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to quality management and sustainability. Implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiencies and sustainability outcomes.

 


    Qualifications

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management or sustainability roles, preferably within the hospitality industry.
    • Strong knowledge of sustainability practices, environmental regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO certifications, Green Key, or similar).
    • Proven track record in developing and executing quality control systems and sustainability initiatives.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and vendors effectively.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant sustainability software or systems.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Passion for sustainability and commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of hospitality operations.
