Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team in Baghdad, Iraq. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices across our operations.

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings and maintain quality standards
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and build strong vendor relationships
  • Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new products to inform purchasing decisions
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand and fulfill their procurement needs
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems to prevent shortages and overstocking
  • Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and resolve any quality or service issues
  • Prepare and present comprehensive purchasing reports, cost analyses, and forecasts to management
  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Implement sustainable procurement practices aligned with the organization's environmental goals

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing management roles
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of team management
  • Experience with sustainable procurement practices and supplier diversity initiatives
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to transparent procurement processes
