The Hoxton, Charlottenburg (Berlin) – Public Area Attendant

The Hoxton take on Europe! We’re popping up in some of our favorite cities and we’ve opened our first hotel in Germany in the city of culture and creativity, Berlin. We are now looking for an experienced Public Area Attendant to join our team.

Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.

Reporting to our Assistant Head Housekeeper, you will be responsible for providing brilliant and genuinely helpful customer service for every guest looking to stay in The Hoxton, Charlottenburg.

We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.


Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • You’ll be responsible for the cleaning and servicing of public areas in the hotel, ensuring that these are always cleaned to brand standards, and are well presented and maintained.
  • To be responsible for reporting any maintenance defects in public areas and back of house through.
  • To ensure that all public areas adhere to all brand standards and quality audit standards.
  • To be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of exterior areas of the hotel including but not limited to guest entrances and loading bay areas.
  • To oversee the delivery and collection of linen and terry on a daily basis.
  • To be responsible for the stocking of linen and housekeeping supplies on guest floors and in stores, and to ensure that these storage areas are clean and well maintained.
  • To ensure guest floors are clean and well maintained at all times.
  • To assist with other tasks to support the housekeeping team as required.
  • To ensure that all Health and Safety standards are adhered to and any breaches in standards are reported to the Assistant Head Housekeeper.
  • To ensure all cleaning materials are handled correctly and to be fully aware of local regulations.
  • To attend all training sessions required.
  • To always maintain a positive and friendly attitude, even when working to find solutions to challenges.
  • To provide the highest level of customer care, and to provide a friendly, helpful and responsive level of service for our guests.
  • To assist in the cleaning of public areas and back-of-house areas as required.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • You have a high level of verbal and written communication skills (German and English is favorable) and competent computer skills.
  • You have the ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • We leave our egos at the door and help each other to get the job done
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once
  • If we get stuck in a lift together, we’d have a good time and share a few laughs
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way
