The Mercure London Earls Court hotel is a newly renovated property in Southwest London. The property is a large conferencing & group hotel comprising a total of 508 keys, across two distinct brands within Accor, Ibis & Mercure. As the property is a combo there are 226 Ibis rooms & 282 Mercure rooms. The London Suite is the main ballroom for all types of events. The London Suite is extremely versatile and plays a pivotal role in the property’s overall performance. The London Suite is divisible into nine separate meeting rooms, which when combined can be one of the largest pillar free spaces in London for events up to 1200 guests. The F & B outlets in the property have been created by PARIS SOCIETY. The F & B space named Barnaby’s, is perfect for social events and either the Barnaby’s Kitchen or Barnaby’s Lounge Bar can be semi or completely privatised for groups, events or additional catering / meeting space for larger residential bookings/ functions.


Job Description

The Painter and Decorator is responsible for painting, varnishing, wallpaper and other protective and decorative materials to interior and exterior walls and surfaces.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties

  • To repair and maintain all painted areas of the hotel rooms, public areas and back of house areas.
  • To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance for all areas of the Hotel as laid down in procedures.
  • To assist with repairing fixtures, fittings and general appliances for hotel guest and staff.
  • To carry out daily inspections of the building in accordance with daily maintenance procedures.
  • To ensure that the workshop area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • To have a complete working knowledge of the Hotel including geographical layout, technical services, security devices and safety routines.
  • To monitor the storage and issue of all materials, equipment and spares.  To maintain a par level stock in conjunction with management.
  • To inspect and maintain all maintenance equipment, to ensure that it is in safe and working order and to either report or repair any defects found.
  • To control the safety and security of all hotel tools.
  • To ensure the security of masters, sub master and maintenance keys.
  • To know and understand the hotel product and design.
  • To be flexible throughout the working day, so as to meet demands from the guest.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required.
