Night Captain (Part-Time)-Hiring Event

Located in the heart of Canada's capital next door to the Parliament Buildings, the landmark Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is looking to fill a role of Night Captain.

Reporting to the Concierge Leadership, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
• Delivery of Food and Beverage orders
• Co-ordinate and work with Front Office and Housekeeping Departments
• Provide parking assistance upon arrival and departure of guest vehicles
• Provide the guest with detailed parking fees and clear explanation of valet benefits
• Work with the overnight Manager on duty
• Luggage handling
• Pick-up laundry and doorknob menus
• Meet all guest needs in a pleasant, efficient and professional manner
• Duties include: Shoeshine, In-Room Dining orders and Bell Services 
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous guest service and food & beverage experience required
• Excellent communication skills in both official languages
• Proven guest service excellence
• Smart Serve Certification required
• Valid Driver’s License with no infractions

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Physical ability to operate a vehicle (foot pedals, gear shift, steering wheel, etc.)
• Frequent bending and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
