• Operate a planned preventative maintenance program to ensure the building, plant and equipment is maintained to a high level of comfort and safety.
• Prioritize work schedules in accordance with guest needs.
• Ensure that preventive maintenance software system is fully utilized by the team and hotel departments.
• Take full responsibility for the Engineering function in the absence of the CE, making decisions and communicating results to other department heads to ensure the dept provides a seamless service at all times.
• Motivate team and seek continuous improvement of policies and service practice.
• Maintain an effective engineering stores system.
• Ensure accurate records are completed and maintained for Utility readings, training and work schedules.
• Supervise and control line staff and contractors, ensuring optimum performance, efficient and safe working procedures.
• To comply with all health & safety policies and fire regulations, ensuring documentation is up to date.
• To report any incidents/accidents to the Duty Manager and prepare incident report as necessary.
• Hold daily team meeting to discuss priorities and schedules.
• Knowledge of and compliance with Accor minimum standards.

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have  knowledge of all types of mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, water treatment, and refrigeration equipment.
• Must have knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, power, water and gas supplies.

• Must have experience in office procedures, ordering materials, record keeping systems, applicable building laws, building construction, blueprint reading, etc.

•  Working knowledge of occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
• Must possess good computer skills.
