Job Description

Position Summary:

Sofitel Shahd Al madinah seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Officer to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our luxurious establishment. The Hygiene Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff by implementing and monitoring hygiene practices and standards in accordance with local and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Hygiene Management:

    • Develop and implement hygiene policies and procedures.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with hygiene standards and regulations.
    • Conduct regular hygiene inspections and audits of all areas, including kitchens, restaurants, guest rooms, and public areas.
    • Ensure all hygiene practices meet the standards of local health authorities and international best practices.
  2. Training & Development:

    • Train and educate staff on hygiene practices, procedures, and standards.
    • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for new and existing staff.
    • Develop training materials and manuals for hygiene practices.
  3. Quality Control:

    • Monitor food safety and hygiene practices in all food and beverage outlets.
    • Ensure proper sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
    • Oversee pest control measures and liaise with pest control services.
  4. Reporting & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of hygiene inspections, audits, and training sessions.
    • Prepare and submit hygiene reports to the management team.
    • Document and follow up on corrective actions for any hygiene-related issues.
  5. Compliance & Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to address any hygiene-related hazards or risks.
    • Participate in health and safety committee meetings and initiatives.
  6. Guest Interaction:

    • Address guest inquiries and concerns regarding hygiene and cleanliness.
    • Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the property.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Certified in HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and/or ISO 22000.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international hygiene standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
