Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Guest Service Associate - Housekeeping to join our dynamic team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction across our hotel facilities. As a Guest Service Associate, you will play a vital part in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests while working collaboratively with the housekeeping team to ensure operational excellence.

**Operational Duties**

  • Attend daily briefings and take on assigned tasks with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Clean and maintain assigned areas according to established standards and procedures
  • Understand and respect different guest levels, including VIP guests, and room categories
  • Replenish guest supplies promptly and respond to guest requests in a timely manner
  • Report any damage or malfunction in hotel rooms or areas to your Supervisor immediately
  • Maintain all equipment in a clean and proper state of functionality
  • Maintain accurate section room reports and daily productivity records
  • Report lost and found articles to the housekeeping office without delay
  • Handle guest complaints tactfully and professionally, escalating concerns to your Supervisor
  • Report any unusual behavior or activities observed in guest rooms, floors, or public areas to your Supervisor
  • Record room status in your assigned section accurately and efficiently
  • Perform valet services when required, including linen delivery and laundry order processing

**Additional Responsibilities**

  • Demonstrate proficiency in hotel fire and life safety procedures and emergency protocols
  • Attend all briefings, meetings, and training sessions as assigned by management
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
  • Establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with colleagues
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications**

  • Primary school education or equivalent
  • Good oral proficiency in the English language
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively
  • Physical capability to perform housekeeping duties, including standing, bending, and lifting
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining consistent attendance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Customer service orientation with a friendly and empathetic approach
  • Willingness to learn and follow established procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality (training will be provided if you are new to the industry)
  • Familiarity with hotel operations and guest service standards
  • Multilingual abilities
  • Experience handling guest complaints and resolving issues professionally
