Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Guest Service Associate to join our Food & Beverage team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our organization, delivering exceptional service to our guests while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your ability to connect with guests, anticipate their needs, and provide personalized attention will directly contribute to their overall experience with us.

  • Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere upon arrival, setting a positive tone for their visit
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently using point of sale (POS) systems while demonstrating attentiveness to detail
  • Deliver orders promptly while maintaining quality standards and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, specials, and beverage pairings to enhance the guest experience
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with empathy, professionalism, and a solution-oriented approach
  • Clear and reset tables in a timely manner while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
  • Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately and securely
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen, bar, and housekeeping staff to ensure seamless and coordinated service delivery
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
  • Multitask effectively during peak service hours while remaining composed, supportive, and focused on guest needs
  • Communicate guest feedback, preferences, and concerns to management to support continuous improvement
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of dining areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility and team commitment
  • Build genuine relationships with returning guests by remembering preferences and personalizing their experience

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with point of sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation with a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing situations
  • Professional demeanor with a friendly, empathetic, and inclusive approach
  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to handle challenging situations gracefully
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods during service
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain financial integrity
  • Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards and best practices

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Proven experience in guest service, food and beverage service, or hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of food and beverage offerings, menu items, and culinary terminology
  • Familiarity with upselling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance revenue
  • Proficiency in local languages in addition to English
  • Experience working in upscale or fine dining establishments
  • Certification in food safety or hospitality customer service
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse guest populations
  • Experience using hospitality management systems or reservation platforms
