Job Description

The Front Desk Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences from pre-arrival through departure. Reporting to the Director of Front Office, this position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk team, driving service excellence, and supporting revenue and occupancy goals. The Front Desk Manager actively contributes to training and staff development, fosters a positive and productive work environment, and ensures the smooth coordination of guest services across departments. A focus on innovation, team morale, and operational efficiency is essential to success in this role.

Competitive Salary:  $74,000-$76,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education

Job Duties Include:  

Reporting to the Director of Front Office responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Front Desk team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences from pre-arrival through departure while supporting occupancy, revenue, and service quality goals.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving efficiencies, implementing innovative systems and service standards, handling guest concerns, and ensuring adherence to hotel policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop Front Office colleagues and leaders by conducting training sessions, managing performance, fostering employee engagement, and promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Coordinate guest services and operational communication across departments, including conventions, groups, VIP arrivals, room blocking, special requests, and departure activities to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support Front Office administration and leadership responsibilities, including staffing schedules, payroll forecasting and administration, health and safety compliance, emergency procedures, financial accountability, and achievement of departmental goals and performance metrics.

Qualifications

Required experience:

  • 2 years experience in a Front Office or Assistant Front Office Manager role
  • Computer literacy required: Micros-Fidelio Property Manager version 2.6.3 e9 or another property management system, Excel, Word
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative, flexible leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions at the same time
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven leadership skills which supports an environment of employee growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service
  • Hotel Management Diploma an asset / Highschool dipolma required
