Job Description

Reporting to the Maitre D', you will:

  • Greet and assist all guests with enthusiasm, provide professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Present menus, provide information about specials, answer guests' questions regarding menu items including ingredients, preparation, cooking methods etc. and making recommendations in a knowledgeable manner
  • Record food and beverage orders accurately, use computerized system to relay orders to kitchen and bar colleagues
  • Check guest satisfaction through service, report any problems and take appropriate action to correct any problems
  • Maintain a safe, clean, tidy, organized, well stocked work area including assigned tables in compliance with all food and beverage safety and sanitation policies
  • Ensure tables are properly set, cleared and reset throughout shift; including checking linens, china, glassware etc are in good condition
  • Maintain a professional appearance and relationships with colleagues
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards including all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • 2 years experience in a high volume restaurant or 1 year in a 4 Diamond Resort Food & Beverage operation required
  • Previous MICROS or similar point of sale system experience an asset
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
