Job Description

The F&B (Food and Beverage) Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth for the food and beverage division at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. The F&B Sales Manager oversees all aspects of the sales process within the hotel’s venues, from setting up proper yield management strategies when it comes to reservation systems, setting up hours of operations based on business levels and assisting with promotion creation and development. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, strong communication skills, leadership and a deep understanding of the food and beverage industry.

This role will assist with ensuring efficient communication between the F&B Admin Team and the different venues, from payroll, to month end accruals, to ordering, and organizing the space. This role will also assist Restaurant Managers and the Executive F&B Team with promotional collateral for venues, development of experiences, promotional events and entertainment, building special events in OpenTable and linking it with hotel systems

Job Duties Include:  

F&B Sales and client relations:  

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share in the F&B sector.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Prepare Banquet Event Orders.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals, contracts, and pricing agreements tailored to the specific needs of clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as culinary, operations, and finance, to develop customized menus, promotions and hours of operations plan.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
  • Attend internal meetings including pre-conference sessions, resume meetings and VIP meetings.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing inquiries and requests related to the F&B department.
  • Direct guest feedback, concerns, and complaints to outlet managers in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide training and guidance to sales team members, including coaching on sales techniques, product knowledge, and client management
  • Motivate and support the team to achieve sales targets (team of 2)
  • Other duties as assigned

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Food and Beverage leadership team, including document preparation, payroll, data entry, and communication management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of F&B promotions, discounts, gratuity, orders and expenses
  • Assist in the coordination of catering services for events hosted by the company.
  • Serve as point of contact between the F&B department and other internal departments.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers and external partners as needed.
  • Prepare and generate reports related to F&B auditing and expenditures.
  • Assist in the creation of presentations and documents for F&B-related projects.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • College or Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven track record of success in F&B sales, preferably in the hospitality or service industry
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage industry trends, products, and customer preferences
  • Strong knowledge of menu design, creation and formatting
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-drive
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill
  • Proficient with Opera, Sales and Catering, Property Management, InDesign/Canvas and Open Table will be considered an asset
  • Leadership abilities and the capacity to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business levels
  • Ability to assist on the floor, in the different venues when business levels dictate, including carrying trays, lifting 20lbs, standing for extended periods of time
