- JOB PURPOSE
- Responsible for assisting the Fire Officer in the overall day to day operations.
- To ensure preventive maintenance schedules are performed and correctly recorded.
- To report any out of order equipment that will affect hotel fire safety and notify any non-productive equipment use.
- To ensure any deviations on the hotels fire and safety are correctly recorded.
- To inspect daily all plant rooms, kitchens, service outlets, public areas, guest areas, BOH areas and record any defects related to firefighting, hotels safety and PA system for rectification.
- To ensure new work orders that have been approved by DOE/ ADOE are performed and correctly recorded.
- To perform any other duties and may be assigned from time to time by the Engineering Department
- Ensuring AMC of the firefighting, fire detection and PA system equipment’s and utilities are happening in timely manner.
- Ensure PAR STOCK for material related to fire and safety is maintained all the time and store inventory is done monthly basis.
- EXECUTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES & EMPOWERMENT
- Empowered to take operational decisions related to Fire and Safety of employees as well as the Hotel.
- Monitors working condition of all Fire detection , firefighting and PA systems of the hotel
- Updates on latest information from log books and service reports.
- Maintain all the files related to all kinds of manuals in terms of firefighting, fire detection and PA systems.
- KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial-
- Coordinates and assists Fire Officer/Chief Engineer on internal campaign and activities of energy conservation program.
- Assists/ advises Fire Officer/Chief Engineer regularly on the latest fire norms as per the industry standards.
- Assists / advises Fire Officer/Chief Engineer regularly on the Fire and safety status and conditions of the hotel.
Operational:-
- Maintain all the firefighting, fire detection and PA system equipment as per the specified standards.
- Respond to queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain all tools and equipment as required.
- Assist other departmental personnel as necessary.
- Ensure to complete all the tasks assigned in an effective and efficient manner.
- Complete the necessary reports, work orders, etc. as required.
- Ensure to practice Safety in all aspects of the job, while attending all kinds of jobs.
- Should be helpful and courteous to guests at all times.
- Should handover important messages and guest requests to the Managers.
- Report any missing or broken property to the Managers.
- Maintains high levels of personal hygiene.
- Be familiar with preventive maintenance schedules of the firefighting, fire detection and PA systems installed in the hotel.
- Aware of the guest complaint handling procedure.
- Ensures the upkeep of all the firefighting and fire detection equipment.
- Follows up on works handed over by Fire Officer
- Abide by companies policy and decision
- To fill the Preventive maintenance chart with all the required information after completion of preventive works as well as all kind of complaints related to firefighting and fire detection
- Abides by the key handling procedures.
- Follows all safety and security measures.
- Safeguard and protect Hotel Property.
- To carry out start and end of the shift duties.
- To report any issues related to fire and safety in the guestroom, Machinery areas and at the Public areas.
- Conducts fire and safety training to all hotel employees as an ongoing process, in coordination with the training manager and security manager.
Business plan /Analysis:-
- Analyze firefighting, fire detection and PA system feedbacks and report to DOE / ADOE.
- Analyze all firefighting, fire detection and PA system history and complaints and reports to DOE / ADOE.
- Should be aware of company’s business plan.
- Should be aware of departmental budgets and Expenses.
Team Management
- Ensures maximum efficiency of the staff working under him/her.
- Coordinates the movements of contractors related to firefighting and fire detection systems within the hotel.
- Establish staff requirements for a shift, based on the need.
- Grooming checks.
- Organize team motivational activities
- To meet team on one on one basis regularly.
General Duty
- Maintain good working relations with fellow colleagues and management.
- Provide other duties and services as assigned by the Associate Director of Engineering.
- Show quick response in handling of emergency situations.
- To have complete knowledge of facilities available in-house.
- Must be thorough on fire and safety procedures.
- Adheres to hygiene standards.
- Follows environmental issues.
- Ensures that personal grooming is adhered as per standards.
