Company Description

The Hoxton, Charlottenburg (Berlin) – Finance Assistant (m/f/d)

Our Berlin home features 234 bedrooms, a lively bar, and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept designed for creative gatherings and brand experiences.

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team and support the continued growth of our hotel. Reporting to our Director of Finance, you will be responsible for assisting in managing the day-to-day operations of Accounting.

More about us...

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • You’re right at the heart of our month-end process, helping us close the books accurately and on time, every single month. Details matter here and you make sure we get them right.
  • Taking care of the hotel’s financial day-to-day, you’ll manage revenues, process accounts payable and keep things running smoothly, working hand in hand with our Director of Finance and the wider team.
  • You keep an eye on our financial processes and are always thinking about smarter, more efficient ways of working because good finance is about structure, but great finance is about progress.
  • You’ll support monthly reporting, owning key parts of the month-end process including P&L preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and making sure everything ties up exactly as it should.
  • Ensuring compliance with finance policies and procedures is part of your routine. You help us stay on track, transparent and audit-ready.
  • You partner with operational teams across the hotel, supporting them with accurate, timely financial insights so they can make confident business decisions.
  • You play a key role in keeping the hotel running efficiently behind the scenes, enabling our teams to focus on what matters most: delivering brilliant guest experiences.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for...

  • Individuals. You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here.
  • Passion for hospitality – whether that’s a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other, and has fun along the way.
  • Previous experience in hotels is preferred but not mandatory – it’s all about how you contribute to the team! We can teach you everything you need to know about the world of hotel finance.
  • Previous experience in income audit or accounts payable.
  • Understanding of the basic accounting functions.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to analyse P&L statements, apply timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Someone with a hands-on, outgoing, pro-active approach; taking personal responsibility and initiative to prevent or resolve problems.
  • A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
  • You like detail, a lot of detail!

Additional Information

What's in it for you...

  • The opportunity to join an innovative, fast-growing, international group that’s committed to not just building new hotels but building a global brand.
  • 24 holidays (plus bank holidays) and extra time off to volunteer with one of our partner charities.
  • A competitive package, plenty of opportunity for development and rewards for going the extra mile and living our values.
  • The chance to challenge the norm and work in an environment that is both creative and rewarding.
  • Become part of a team that’s very passionate about creating great hospitality experiences and building a portfolio of brands.
  • Enjoy a free night at The Hoxton and a meal for two when you first start with us.
  • Great discounts across the entire Ennismore family.
  • Lots of opportunity to progress and switch it up as part of a global family of brands.
  • Regular team get togethers, from our team drinks to our (pretty special!) bi-annual parties – we know how to have a good time!
  • An annual diversity and inclusion calendar of events creating opportunities for you to learn, celebrate and make a positive impact.
  • We’ve got your commute covered — no stress getting to work.
  • Meal vouchers and our Pluxee Benefit card to keep you fuelled while on shift.
  • Get in touch with experts from OpenUp to balance work and life or any other mental-wellbeing related topic.
  • Enjoy lots of Discounts through our Corporate Benefits Discount webpage.
