Job Description

This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the food and beverage service function to ensure total customer satisfaction whilst meeting the departmental budget.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure efficient, friendly and professional food & beverage service is provided to all guests.
  • Familiarize yourself with VIP and regular guests to ensure their requests and needs are met.
  • Set up systems to protect and maintain control of food service equipment, correctly recording breakages and carry our regular stock takes.
  • Set up and maintain a weekly cleaning schedule for the food service areas to achieve the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate outlet and hotel liquor licensing guidelines and House Management Policies.
  • Maintain currency of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles.
  • Greet and welcome guests, assist with enquiries and restaurant bookings. Assist guests with menu offerings and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling. Effectively take orders. Ensure accuracy by repeating order(s) to the guests, dockets written clearly and correctly input into the point of sale system.
  • Check ordered meals on collection from kitchen and deliver to guests promptly to maintain temperature and appearance; ensure items are announced.
  • Assist with preparation of rosters, ensuring that suitable and cost effective employee levels are maintained at all times.  Rosters to be authorized by appropriate department head.

  • Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, leadership, relationship and networking skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
  • Flexible and able to embrace and respond effectively to change

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a food and beverage outlet, and have a prior experience as supervisor is a must.  
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of beverages
  • Micros knowledge desirable.
