Job Description

To carry out allocated cleaning duties, achieving established standards of cleanliness and presentation to meet guests needs and exceed their expectations in regard to the cleanliness of the room areas of the hotel. As an experienced Housekeeping specialist, you ensure self-assessment and inspection of every room for this quality and attention to detail before releasing each room.


Qualifications

  • Prior experience of Housekeeping duties at a luxury level.
  • Passion for interacting with people, with the ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in our fast-paced environment.
  • Eye for detail and willing and able to uphold high standards in cleaning
  • Self motivated and enjoy working autonomously
  • A great team player with a good level of fitness and able to work in a physically demanding role.
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Clean police record

Detailed duties:

  • Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated and to the expected standard of an upscale 5 star property.
  • Ensure guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.
  • Report any lost property following correct.
  • Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.
  • Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy.
  • Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual.
  • Ensure all department equipment is maintained to a high standard.
  • Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.
  • Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times by adherence to security procedures.  Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor.
  • Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Assist guests with any requests for information or service they require.  Refer any requests out of your authority to your supervisor.
  • Assist in providing our guests with turn down service.
  • Clean balconies, balcony furniture and railings.
  • Clean carpets.
  • Responsible for de-scaling shower heads, bleach grouting in bathroom and toilets and general upkeep of bedrooms.
  • Help colleagues when necessary (extra beds, bed boards, make beds)
  • Engage warmly with guests, using emotional intelligence and initiative to support in five star luxury service.
  • Ability to work alone when required cleaning rooms.
  • Responsible for the quality self-assessment and inspection, in order to release rooms.
  • Identify and deliver MGallery Magic for guests, based on their preferences and interactions, sharing intelligence with your colleagues through assigned systems.

Shifts include weekends and public holidays, 30 hours guaranteed, $30.19 per hour
