Job Description

What do we expect from you?

Mondrian Abu Dhabi is set to be the next iconic destination, and we are seeking a forward-thinking and strategic Director of Technology to lead our technology infrastructure during the pre-opening phase. In this crucial role, you will oversee all aspects of technology within the property, ensuring the seamless integration of systems that support operations and elevate the guest experience. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the hotel's technological foundation is strong and supports the long-term success of Mondrian Abu Dhabi.

How your day looks like:

  • Lead the pre-opening technology operations, ensuring the smooth setup, integration, and testing of all systems.
  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure that all technological initiatives align with the property’s vision and objectives.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of key systems, such as property management, reservation, point-of-sale, and guest experience technologies.
  • Ensure seamless connectivity and operational support across all areas, from guest rooms to public spaces.
  • Monitor and address technology-related issues, providing timely solutions and support to ensure smooth hotel operations.
  • Manage budgets for technology systems and infrastructure, ensuring cost control while maintaining cutting-edge technology.
  • Lead and mentor the technology team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Implement robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard the hotel’s digital assets and guest data.
  • Collaborate with other departments, ensuring technology enables smooth cross-functional operations.
  • Stay ahead of technology trends in the hospitality industry and introduce innovative solutions that enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

This role requires a strategic vision, strong leadership, and a focus on optimizing technology infrastructure and systems, while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving operational efficiency across the property. Your expertise will be essential in aligning technological advancements with the hotel’s overall goals, supporting both revenue growth and seamless operations.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Technology management, with at least 3 years in a Director-level role, ideally in a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
  • Experience working in a truly global work environment is essential.
  • Proven pre-opening experience with a strong track record of financial leadership and operational excellence.
  • Proven experience with technology integration and infrastructure setup, particularly during pre-opening phases.
  • Expertise in property management systems, reservation software, and hotel-specific technologies (e.g., OPERA, HMS, CRS).
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity protocols, IT systems management, and infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think creatively and respond to technology challenges swiftly.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing technological advancements with operational needs.
