Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new Director, Spa. Reporting to the Director, Leisure & Recreation, the Director, Spa provides strategic leadership and oversight for the overall operation of Fairmont Southampton’s spa. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and team engagement while delivering a world-class wellness experience aligned with Fairmont and Accor luxury standards. The Director, Spa will lead the spa’s vision, curate innovative wellness offerings, and collaborate closely with resort leadership to ensure a seamless, elevated guest journey.

What you will be doing:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all spa operations, services, and programming.
  • Develop and execute the spa’s business plan, aligning with resort objectives and brand standards.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing spa leadership team and colleagues.

Guest Experience & Brand Excellence

  • Ensure an exceptional, personalized guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Uphold Fairmont luxury standards and wellness brand positioning across all touchpoints.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance spa offerings to exceed guest expectations and market trends.

Operations & Financial Management

  • Oversee daily spa operations, including treatment services, retail, fitness, and wellness facilities.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, revenue generation, cost controls, and profitability.
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies to drive revenue and operational efficiency.

Talent Development & Team Engagement

  • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor spa colleagues to foster engagement, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven work environment.
  • Ensure staffing levels, scheduling, and payroll align with operational needs.

Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Collaborate with hotel departments to deliver a seamless, integrated guest experience.
  • Represent the spa at industry events, partnerships, and professional forums.
  • Support marketing initiatives, promotions, and special wellness events.

Standards, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain facility standards, equipment upkeep, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure all spa policies, procedures, and brand standards are consistently followed.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive spa leadership experience, preferably within luxury hospitality or resort environments.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale spa operations and teams.
  • Strong background in financial management, revenue generation, and operational strategy.

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business, Wellness Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional spa or wellness certifications are an asset

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze financial and operational data.
  • In-depth knowledge of spa operations, wellness trends, treatments, and guest service standards.
