What do we expect from you?

Mondrian Abu Dhabi will soon become a landmark in the heart of the city, and we are seeking a visionary Director of Security to ensure the safety and security of our guests, employees, and property. This key leadership position requires a strong ability to lead a security team, as well as a deep understanding of safety protocols, emergency response strategies, and best practices in luxury hospitality security. You will work closely with senior leadership, contributing to the hotel’s overall operational excellence while maintaining Mondrian’s commitment to providing an outstanding guest experience.

How your day looks like:

• Oversee and manage all hotel security operations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and visitors at all times.
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures, ensuring they align with Mondrian’s brand standards and local regulations.
• Lead, train, and manage the security team to maintain the highest level of vigilance and professionalism.
• Establish and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for any potential incidents, emergencies, or crises.
• Work with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure effective collaboration during any security-related incidents.
• Conduct risk assessments and threat analyses to proactively address vulnerabilities and prevent security breaches.
• Ensure that all security equipment, including surveillance systems, alarms, and access control systems, is regularly maintained and fully operational.
• Monitor security operations, including guest and employee safety, property surveillance, and incident reports, to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Manage the security budget, ensuring cost-effective measures while maintaining high standards of security.
• Collaborate with the hotel’s leadership team to enhance guest experiences, ensuring that safety measures do not disrupt or detract from the luxury hospitality experience.
• Stay current with the latest industry trends, regulations, and technologies to implement best practices in security.

The Director of Security at Mondrian Abu Dhabi requires outstanding leadership, deep technical knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to operational excellence. Your expertise will be essential in safeguarding the property, ensuring a secure environment for both guests and staff, while contributing significantly to the seamless guest experience and the sustained success of Mondrian Abu Dhabi.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Security management, with at least 3 years in a Director-level role, ideally in a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
• Experience working in a truly global work environment is essential.
• Prior pre-opening experience is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of security management systems, crisis response protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Proven leadership abilities, with experience in building, training, and motivating security teams.
• Excellent understanding of the security challenges and risks specific to the hospitality industry, including guest safety, employee security, and property protection.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, remain calm during emergencies, and resolve conflicts with diplomacy and professionalism.
• Deep knowledge of local laws, regulations, and security standards.
• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
