Job Description

The Director of Sales & Marketing provides positive leadership, innovative ideas and strategic direction across our Business Development, Marketing and Meeting & Events Sales. 

Creating and implementing hotel-level tactical sales plans

Analyse current/potential market and sales trends towards activities to maintain and increase market share through increased business volume and rate. 

Create and implement both tactical marketing activity to generate short-term revenue and strategic marketing activity to profitably position the hotels for long-term success

Coach and develop a team of Sales, Marketing and Events associates to achieve success. 

Execute hotel strategies and initiatives to drive performance in all market segments – Group, FIT and Conferencing. 

Identify opportunities to increase on-going and additional revenue streams and creates value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change.

Provide business intelligence and evaluation of market & economic trends 

Active oversight for all digital marketing activities. Including content creation, analytics and preparing seasonal tactical plans for the property. This will include working closely with Regional digital marketing team to ensure synergies among regional and corporate campaigns/strategies, and property based websites.

Develop strong community and public relations by maintaining property participation in local, regional and national trade shows, client events, and other client related activities as required

Maintain a strong relationship with owners and actively participate in the preparation and delivery of monthly/quarterly/annual business reviews.


Qualifications

  • Creative freedom 
  • Encouraged empowerment to lead Talented presenter
  • Open and effective communicator with interpersonal skills to persuade and obtain "buy-in" from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong research and analytical abilities
  • The ability to travel 
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft programs (Outlook, ppt), and administration skills
  • Preferred experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing, or Director of Sales in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment
  • A proven ability to proactively coach and guide sales team members to provide exceptional service
