Company Description

Reporting to the VP of Operations, US and the EVP of Operations, LATAM & Caribbean, the Director of Openings & Transitions, Americas will oversee all hotel pre-opening, transition, and closure activities across the region.

At Ennismore, we never sit still.  We need a director who can drive hotel openings, transitions, and closures with precision and clarity, keeping teams aligned, projects on track, and key milestones met. From ensuring brand standards are implemented, to supporting cross-functional teams, to delivering smooth property launches and transitions, this role is central to Ennismore’s continued growth and operational excellence in the region.

Job Description

What you'll do…

  • Lead and coordinate all hotel openings, brand transitions, rebrands, and closures across the Americas region, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment brand standards.
  • Provide project leadership, supporting General Managers, pre-opening teams, and cross-functional team members to keep all projects on track and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Create, maintain and distribute the Pre-Opening and Transition Brand Standards Pack, ensuring all stakeholders understand their roles, responsibilities, and accountability.  The same for closing projects.
  • Oversee the projects’ critical paths (Monday.com), ensuring timelines, milestones, budgets, and resources are effectively managed and clearly communicated to all teams.
  • Serve as a visible, supportive presence on-property and virtually, providing taskforce support, hands-on guidance, and training to embed brand standards, culture, and guest experience principles.
  • Ensure that VP of Operations, US and EVP of Operations, LATAM & Caribbean review and approve any deviations from brand standards, ensuring brand integrity during openings, transitions, and closures.
  • Act as the key operational and strategic point of contact for internal teams and leadership, keeping communication clear, decisions aligned, and teams motivated.
  • Capture lessons learned and share best practices from each opening, transition, or closure to continuously improve processes and ensure future success.
  • Build and sustain a strong, connected network of GM’s and senior leaders, fostering collaboration, shared learning, and consistent leadership behaviors across the region.

  • Contribute to regional strategy, identifying risks, opportunities, and priorities related to openings, transitions, and closures, and providing insights to leadership for both short- and long-term planning.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • Strong understanding of hotel operations (lifestyle brands preferred).
  • Previous experience leading hotel openings, brand transitions, rebrands, or closures, ideally across multiple properties and markets, preferred
  • Excellent project management skills, able to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while ensuring timelines, budgets, and goals are met.
  • Proven experience partnering with cross-functional teams (Operations, Revenue, Sales, Marketing, F&B, People & Culture, Development, and beyond) to ensure aligned execution.
  • You are scarily organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Able to travel frequently across the Americas to support openings, transitions, and closures on-site.
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project management tools is strongly preferred.
  • Someone who thrives in a creative and entrepreneurial environment rather than a structured and established work environment.
  • You’re looking for a place where you can be you: no clones in suits for us.
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get things done.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
