Job Description

Position: Director of Marketing

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports to: Commercial Director

Working Location: Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit or any assigned venues

The Director of Marketing is a pivotal leader responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s comprehensive marketing and communications strategy, driving brand awareness, and enhancing our market position. You will be the visionary behind the hotel's brand storytelling, ensuring every message resonates with our luxury clientele. As a key contributor to our purpose "to show the world that true luxury is inclusive," you will strategically position the hotel to attract guests who seek experiences where we "make special happen," ensuring our brand messaging and digital footprint truly "turn moments into special memories." You will cultivate strategies where every guest interaction is an "invitation to surprise," from initial awareness through every touchpoint, ultimately "driving value for our owners and partners" and consistently "delivering a balanced scorecard." This role is instrumental in ensuring the hotel's commercial success, directly supporting its ambition to achieve and maintain Forbes 5-Star recognition, and embedding a sustainability-driven approach in all marketing activities while fostering colleague satisfaction within the commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership: Develop and implement the hotel's integrated marketing and communications strategy, encompassing all online and offline channels to enhance brand visibility, drive demand, and reinforce our luxury positioning.
  • Marketing Communications & PR: Lead all public relations and media relations efforts, acting as the hotel’s brand guardian and chief storyteller. Cultivate strong "hisociety connections" with key media, influencers, and community leaders to secure high-value placements and brand partnerships.
  • Digital Marketing & E-commerce: Oversee the hotel's entire digital ecosystem, including the website, SEO/SEM, social media platforms, content marketing, and e-commerce strategy. Drive direct bookings and online revenue through innovative, data-driven campaigns and a seamless digital guest journey.
  • F&B Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate closely with the F&B team to develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies for all dining and bar venues, leveraging previous performance data to drive revenue and results.
  • Cross-Channel Campaign Management: Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all channels, from traditional advertising and collateral to modern digital and social platforms.
  • Brand Management Excellence: Oversee all hotel branding elements and visual identity, ensuring consistent luxury messaging and creative direction. Champion the Fairmont brand promise and the global "Make Special Happen" campaign through all local initiatives.
  • Revenue Collaboration & Optimization: Work in close partnership with the Sales and Revenue Management teams to ensure marketing campaigns and promotions are strategically aligned with sales objectives and pricing decisions, maximizing overall hotel revenue and ROI.
  • Forbes & Luxury Positioning: Ensure all marketing collateral, communications, and digital content meticulously reflect and support the hotel's Forbes 5-Star aspirations and luxury service delivery standards.
  • Sustainability & Community Engagement: Champion the hotel's commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Lead the execution of Accor's Planet 21 program and other hotel CSR initiatives. Collaborate closely with the Talent & Culture team to engage colleagues and with external partners to create meaningful community initiatives that "make the community a better place," and effectively communicate these efforts through marketing channels.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the Marketing Communications and Digital Marketing teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and engaged work environment.

  • Human Resources: We foster a positive and dynamic work environment within our commercial teams, ensuring their growth and satisfaction, aligning with our belief that "colleagues are the heart and soul of our hotel." We integrate sustainability-driven practices into our commercial outlook.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or Business Administration; Master's degree highly preferred.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of progressive leadership experience in Marketing and Communications within the luxury hospitality sector, with at least 3-5 years at a Director level.
  • Extensive luxury hotel experience is required, with a proven track record of driving significant brand awareness and demand in highly competitive markets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all facets of marketing, including PR, Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing, social media, content creation, and hotel e-commerce.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing and promotional campaigns for food and beverage outlets, leveraging data to drive results.
  • Proven experience in cultivating and managing "hisociety connections" and influencer partnerships.
  • Strong financial acumen for budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis of marketing initiatives.
  • Deep understanding and proven experience in aligning marketing strategies with Forbes 5-Star service standards and brand positioning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience in leading sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including a working knowledge of programs like Accor's Planet 21. Experience collaborating with Talent & Culture and community partners to implement social and environmental programs is highly desirable.
  • Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Thai is a must, essential for effective communication with a global clientele and local teams.
  • Proficiency in a third language will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency with digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, analytics software (e.g., Google Analytics), and social media management tools.
