Job Description

Position Summary

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, cost control, and compliance with local regulations and Accor brand standards. The role is a key member of the executive committee and a strategic business partner to the General Manager, providing financial insight and leadership to support operational and strategic decision-making.

This role is critical to maintaining financial integrity, maximizing profitability, and supporting operational efficiency, particularly during high-demand periods such as Hajj, Ramadan, and Umrah.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Financial Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead and manage the hotel’s finance team in all financial aspects.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to both ownership and Accor corporate office.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide financial analysis, forecasts, and strategic insights to support management decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Prepare the hotel’s annual operating budget and capital expenditure plans.
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Lead monthly financial review meetings with department heads and executive team.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all internal control policies, SOPs, local laws, tax regulations, and Accor standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and transparency.
  • Maintain a robust system of internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.

Procurement & Cost Control

  • Work closely with the Materials Manager and department heads to ensure cost-effective procurement and inventory control.
  • Monitor F\&B costs, payroll ratios, and departmental spending.
  • Review and approve all major spending requests and contracts.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, train, and develop the finance team, including Chief Accountant, Credit Controller, Payables, and Night Auditor.
  • Foster a culture of financial accountability, continuous learning, and ethical conduct.

Owner and Corporate Relations

  • Serve as the financial liaison between hotel ownership, Accor corporate office, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment with ownership goals and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience in a senior leadership role and atleast 5 years of experience in a similar capacity within a 5-star hotel environment a
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi tax law, local compliance regulations, and hotel financial systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
  •  
  • High degree of professionalism with strong understanding of business acumen
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language and fluency in Arabic will be an added asset.
  • Fully conversant in  accounting principles  and financial regulation standards

 

Systems & Technology

  • Oversee financial systems including Sun Systems, MC, Opera PMS, and Accor reporting tools.
  • Drive automation and digitization of financial processes for accuracy and efficiency.
