Job Description

  • Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and presenting Mediterranean dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all mise en place is prepared and ready for service in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all food items.
  • Support daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow during service.
  • Follow all hygiene, health, and safety standards (HACCP) at all times.
  • Properly store food items, label, and date products in line with food safety regulations.
  • Minimize food wastage and control portioning.
  • Assist in training and guiding Commis Chefs when required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workstation and kitchen equipment.
  • Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Participate in stock rotation (FIFO) and assist with inventory checks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role within a hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Previous experience in Mediterranean cuisine is mandatory.
  • Culinary diploma or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
