At Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, every unforgettable dining experience begins in the heart of our kitchen. As Cook II, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences that reflect our commitment to excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cook II, you will support daily culinary operations with professionalism, efficiency, and creativity, ensuring all dishes meet Fairmont’s high standards:

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Maintain exceptional standards of kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety
  • Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering processes
  • Adhere to all kitchen policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Learn and execute menu items, daily features, and promotional offerings
  • Deliver proactive, friendly service while collaborating effectively with the culinary team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall kitchen operations

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Role

We’re seeking a passionate culinary professional with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a banquet or restaurant culinary environment
  • Culinary Arts diploma or certification (considered an asset)
  • Valid Food Safe certification (required)
  • Strong passion for food, creativity, and service excellence
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • High level of responsibility, reliability, and organization
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders

Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
