Job Description

Concierge/ Guest Services Agent – Full Time Seasonal

As a Concierge Agent at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, you’ll be the expert our guests rely on for exceptional recommendations and seamless service. Your flair for anticipating needs and delivering personalized experiences will ensure every stay is nothing short of extraordinary.

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently provide professional, friendly, and personalized service to all guests
  • Foster strong, loyal guest relationships by delivering thoughtful and attentive service in every interaction
  • Ensure smooth operations by working closely with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Central Services, and Fairmont Gold
  • Efficiently address guest issues, ensuring proper logging and follow-up
  • Use Alice reservation software to manage guest requests through various channels (phone, email, text, in-person)
  • Stay up-to-date on Vancouver’s attractions, restaurants, and local activities, sharing this knowledge with guests
  • Help with guest mail, messages, and any other plans or arrangements during their stay
  • Actively promote and sell hotel services and offerings from our suppliers
  • Assist with the care and supervision of our Canine Ambassador
  • Ensure the lobby remains in top condition, reporting issues and entering work orders promptly
  • Follow hotel emergency procedures and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment
  • Abide by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts policies, procedures, and code of ethics
  • Assist leadership with tasks and operations, including other duties within the Front Office department

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Prior experience in guest-facing positions, with a passion for service
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment (preferred)
  • Excellent understanding of Vancouver and nearby attractions
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Property Manager, Open Table, and Kipsu (a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to think critically under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
  • Able to work cohesively with colleagues and independently
  • Always attentive to guest needs, maintaining composure and courtesy
  • Willingness to work rotating schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Standing and walking for long periods throughout the shift
  • Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs frequently
  • Kneeling, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and navigating stairs or ramps

Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
