Job Description

We are seeking talented and passionate COMMIS I/II/III to join our culinary team in Sepang, Malaysia. As a vital member of our kitchen brigade, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
  • Follow recipes and cooking instructions precisely to ensure consistent quality
  • Prepare and present dishes according to established standards
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Support senior chefs in menu development and special projects
  • Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs

Qualifications

  • Equivalent qualification in culinary arts or related field
  • 0-3 years of kitchen experience, depending on the level (Commis I, II, or III)
  • Proficiency in various culinary techniques and cooking methods
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques
  • Basic knowledge of various cuisines is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
