Commis Chef

Conveniently located amongst Sydney’s CBD, Darling Harbour, Darling Square and ICC precincts at Novotel Sydney Darling Square we are looking for our next kitchen star to join our team as our Commis Chef.

Working across a dynamic operations across both the hotel and Pumphouse Bar and Restaurant you will be the heart of the kitchen brigade.

What will you be doing:

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes with precision, following recipes and maintaining portion control to create flavors that impress.
• Ensure the availability of mise-en-place as required by the kitchen team.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene practices throughout the entire food chain, from storage to preparation and service.
• Collaborate with senior chefs to learn new techniques and improve culinary skills.

What we are looking for:

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and experience in a similar environment desired.
• You have a keen eye and have basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• You can work under pressure in a high volume environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
