Company Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and resourceful Cluster IT Manager to lead our technological infrastructure and drive digital transformation across our Nile Cruises. This is a critical standalone role that will ensure the seamless functioning of all IT systems, directly impacting operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

You will be the primary point of contact for Accor's IT department, responsible for implementing global IT standards and spearheading new technology deployments. Your proactive approach to IT management will be key to enhancing our "excellence and proactivity" culture, ensuring all guest-facing technology runs smoothly, and developing innovative tech-enabled processes. For example, you might create tech-enabled processes to easily gather guest reviews, collect guest information, or enhance inter-departmental communication, ultimately freeing up operational time and minimizing errors.


Job Description

This is a critical standalone role that will ensure the seamless functioning of all IT systems, directly impacting operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

You will be the primary point of contact for Accor's IT department, responsible for implementing global IT standards and spearheading new technology deployments. Your proactive approach to IT management will be key to enhancing our "excellence and proactivity" culture, ensuring all guest-facing technology runs smoothly, and developing innovative tech-enabled processes. For example, you might create tech-enabled processes to easily gather guest reviews, collect guest information, or enhance inter-departmental communication, ultimately freeing up operational time and minimizing errors.


Qualifications

As our Cluster IT Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and hands-on management of all IT operations, including:

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain all network infrastructure, IP cameras, and internet connectivity, ensuring optimal uptime and functionality across our head office, cruise ships, and sister restaurants in Cairo.
  • System Maintenance & Support: Conduct regular reviews and maintenance of all IT systems, including our recently migrated cloud services and on-premise industry-specific PMS (Opera Cloud, Symphony). Provide essential user support to all team members.
  • New Technology & Service Adoption: Lead the adoption and integration of new technologies and services, particularly those aligning with Accor's global standards. This includes digital transformation projects with an emphasis on AI adoption.
  • Cybersecurity & Data Management: Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures in accordance with mandated guidelines, ensuring data security and integrity.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management: Manage the procurement of IT hardware and software, overseeing inventory and nurturing strong relationships with IT vendors.
  • Custom Application Development: Utilize no-code or low-code development platforms to create custom-made applications and tech-enabled processes that address operational needs and enhance guest experiences.
  • Onboarding & Training: Facilitate IT-related onboarding for new team members, ensuring they are proficient in using our systems.
  • Troubleshooting & On-Site Support: Travel frequently to our cruise ships (for a few days at a time) to troubleshoot complex issues, perform essential maintenance, and implement new IT initiatives.

Reporting & Compliance: Prepare comprehensive reports on IT compliance, incident management, and inventory, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date


Additional Information

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 5-7 years of progressive IT experience, with a significant portion gained within the hospitality or service-oriented industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong software-related skills including:
    • Network management and administration.
    • Proficiency in no-code or low-code development platforms.
    • Experience with cloud services and migrations.
    • Familiarity with hospitality-specific software such as Opera Cloud and Symphony.
    • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional creative problem-solving skills are paramount. You must be adept at devising cost-effective, user-friendly workarounds and comfortable in creating custom solutions to unique challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively instruct and educate non-technical users, explain complex technical issues clearly, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Languages: Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is a must.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

 

Location & Travel

This position is primarily based in our office in Zamalek, Cairo. We offer flexibility for working from home, however, on-location work and frequent travel to our ships will be necessary to address critical IT needs and implement new projects, taking priority over other arrangements.
