Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Swissotel Corniche Park Towers Doha. As the leader of our stewarding department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational efficiency in our kitchen and food service areas.

  • Oversee daily stewarding operations and supervise the stewarding staff
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout all kitchen and back-of-house areas
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen equipment
  • Coordinate with culinary and F&B departments to support kitchen and event operations
  • Implement and monitor HACCP procedures and safety protocols
  • Train, schedule, and mentor stewarding personnel to maintain high service standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and organization
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling in compliance with local regulations
  • Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house management to ensure cohesive service and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain and troubleshoot dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance work culture within the stewarding team

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in stewarding, preferably in a 5-star hotel or resort
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation, hygiene practices, and food safety regulations
  • Proficiency in managing schedules, inventory, and cleaning protocols
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and dishwashing machinery
  • Excellent communication skills and basic computer literacy
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in a hospitality setting
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction
