Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join our dynamic team in Istanbul, Türkiye. As the Chief Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our organization's financial operations and ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and regulations.

  • Prepare and manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and financial statements
  • Compile comprehensive financial reports for management in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations
  • Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and controls
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits
  • Stay up-to-date with Turkish accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance in all financial activities
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Accounting or Finance; professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a corporate environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Turkish accounting standards and regulations
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant accounting systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Turkish
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being capable of independent decision-making
  • Experience in implementing and improving financial processes and controls
