Job Description

About the Role!

As an accomplished Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in advancing our brands, focusing on uncovering new business opportunities in the MICE sector to drive impactful revenue growth.

In this role, you will cultivate and maintain high-value relationships with MICE clients, generating premium leads and securing top-tier business for our Conference & Events spaces. Leveraging your deep understanding of the Australian landscape and existing relationships with Professional Conference Organizers (PCOs), you will ensure Pullman & Mercure continue to thrive as industry leaders.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, you’ll take the initiative to explore creative sales and marketing channels, while maximizing the value of third-party listings and partnerships the hotel already holds. Your proactive approach will drive engagement and capture untapped market opportunities. Working closely with internal teams, you’ll deliver seamless, innovative event solutions that align with Pullman’s ethos of energy, performance, and excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving business development and managing key accounts within the MICE sector, with a focus on long-term growth.
  • Taking a forward-thinking and innovative approach to identifying new MICE business opportunities, ensuring Pullman & Mercure stand out in the market.
  • Proactively selling Conference & Events products and services, leveraging existing third-party partnerships and PCO relationships to generate premium leads and secure high-value clients.
  • Collaborating with Sales & Marketing teams to implement streamlined systems that efficiently manage sales, ensuring seamless execution and delivery of new business.
  • Maximizing revenue potential by ensuring long-term returns from both new and existing accounts, consistently seeking ways to grow these relationships.
  • Partnering with operational departments to create clear, effective systems that deliver exceptional customer service, driving repeat business and client loyalty.
  • Working closely with the Marketing team to ensure that all efforts align with the hotel’s overarching strategies, enhancing visibility and ensuring brand consistency across all channels.

Qualifications

About You!

  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong relationships with high-profile MICE clients.
  • Masterful negotiation and closing skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth.
  • Proficient in strategic planning and implementing business initiatives tailored to our  reputable C&E spaces.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with a refined and polished demeanor.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and identify business opportunities.
  • High degree of professionalism and a commitment to excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and represent the brand at industry events.
