At the heart of the property is the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre, hosting conferences, exhibitions and events for up to 1,400 delegates. From corporate retreats and national conferences to large-scale gala events, our team delivers experiences that leave a lasting impression.

We’re looking for an energetic and relationship-driven Business Development Executive to grow our Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) business across Queensland. Job Description

In this role, you will focus on growing our MICE business by developing strong client relationships and converting enquiries into confirmed conferences and events.

You will identify new opportunities across Queensland and local markets, connect with conference organisers and corporate clients, and showcase everything our resort and convention centre has to offer. From the first enquiry through to securing the event, you’ll play an important role in bringing major conferences and events to the Sunshine Coast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new MICE opportunities across Queensland and local markets
  • Convert enquiries into confirmed conferences and events
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, PCOs and event organisers
  • Conduct proactive sales calls and prospecting to grow the business pipeline
  • Prepare proposals, quotes and contracts using CRM systems
  • Host site inspections and showcase the resort to prospective clients
  • Represent the hotel at industry networking events and trade shows
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline tracking and reporting
  • Provide market insights and competitor intelligence
  • Contribute to achieving conference and events revenue targets

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality sales, conferences & events, or business development
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Confident communicator with excellent presentation abilities
  • Commercial mindset with a drive to convert opportunities into revenue
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • Experience with Opera and Delphi systems highly regarded
