What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Restaurant Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:    

  • Provide warm, sincere and engaging service ensuring we manage and foster the guest relationship
  • Ensure Botanist consistently reflects the ambience and service standards set by the leadership team
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent service by maintaining high staff morale and team spirit through active on the floor communication, training and coaching.
  • Assist the General Manager by motivating, leading, coaching and monitoring the performance levels of all team members
  • Ensure Botanist is operating within the standards of a Forbes five-star venue
  • To be involved in and aware of the Vancouver culinary environment including competitors, partners and trends.
  • To contribute and focus on daily growth of the operation though awareness and understanding of LQA and EES
  • Work together with the culinary, service, and stewarding team to ensure that all food service meets or exceeds guest expectations and to promote teamwork as a strong component of the daily service culture
  • Must be able to think independently
  • Have full knowledge of all offerings
  • Ensure all restaurant information and tools are maintained at the highest level 
  • Take lead in handling all guest concerns, reacting quickly and professionally with the goal to bring around full resolution with guest satisfaction top of mind
  • Create and maintain a positive company culture with aim to sustain an engaged,  knowledgeable and enthusiastic team while building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation
  • Ensure that all safety and sanitation policies are followed when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in luxury-level restaurant operations as a supervisor or Manager.
  • An understanding and passion for the Vancouver culinary scene, and being a trend-setter in the market.
  • Forbes five-star and/or Michelin rates dining experience strongly preferred.
  • Problem solving & decision-making skills; analytical and highly detail oriented.
  • Product knowledge, including a thorough working knowledge of wines, liqueurs and other beverages.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; service oriented and a team player.  
  • OpenTable experience required
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and MS Office software)
