Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Assistant Manager for our Catering & Conference Services team in Cairo, Egypt. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of high-profile events and conferences in one of the world's most historic cities.

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing catering and conference events, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction
  • Supervise and mentor a team of catering and event staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and create customized event proposals
  • Manage event budgets, negotiate with vendors, and optimize resource allocation
  • Oversee menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, maintenance) to ensure seamless event execution
  • Handle client inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures for all catering and conference services
  • Analyze event feedback and suggest improvements to enhance service offerings
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas into event planning and execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in catering, event management, or hospitality industry
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Proven track record in event planning and execution
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and financial management
  • Knowledge of food service operations and menu planning
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe)
  • Familiarity with local and international cuisine
  • Understanding of cultural etiquette and customs in Cairo and Egypt
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus

Hotel Overview:  Overlooking one of Cairo’s most beautiful Nile views, Nile City Towers complex is a business destination claim to Egypt’s corporate success. Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally permitted to work in Egypt.
