We are seeking a talented and passionate Demi Chef De Partie specializing in Tandoor cooking to join our culinary team in Gandhinagar, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes using traditional tandoor cooking techniques while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Prepare and cook a variety of tandoor dishes, including breads, meats, and vegetables, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tandoor station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation for the tandoor section
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in tandoor cooking techniques
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of tandoor dishes during service hours
- Contribute to menu planning and suggest seasonal specials featuring tandoor-cooked items
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss kitchen operations and customer feedback
- Assist other kitchen stations as needed during peak hours
- Proven experience (1-2 years) as a Demi Chef De Partie or in a similar role, with a focus on tandoor cooking
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine and expertise in various tandoor cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and relevant health regulations
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution (preferred)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina to work long hours in a hot kitchen environment
- Creativity and passion for developing new tandoor-based dishes
- Basic English communication skills
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused cuisine
