The Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for assisting the Director of Finance in managing the financial operations of a luxury hotel. They oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department, supervise staff, and prepare financial reports. Assistant Directors of Finance also play a key role in developing and implementing the hotel's financial strategy.
What you will be doing:
- Assist the Director of Finance in managing the financial operations of the hotel.
- Assist with the development and implementation of the hotel's financial strategy
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department – Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Purchasing etc.
- Supervise and train the Finance Team.
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheet reconciliations, forecast, and income and cash flow statements.
- Manage the hotel's financial budget.
- Conduct financial audits and reviews.
- Work with other hotel departments to ensure that financial information is accurate and timely.
Your experience and skills include:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the luxury hospitality industry, within a major international brand.
- Experience as a DOF or ADOF in a 400+ bedroom hotel essential.
- Experience as a DOF or ADOF in a hotel in a pre-opening environment (new build or major renovation) essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles and practices.
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience with managing and supervising staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
