Mr Good Guy is seeking an experienced Restaurant & Bar Manager to join our team.  Help us celebrate the notion of Asian street food with a modern, urban twist at Mr Good Guy Hobart!

Located in the Ibis Styles Hobart, Mr Good Guy takes you deep into the night markets of Asia, allowing our guests to experience the hawker food found in the backstreets and laneways of South-East Asia in the heart of Hobart. We pride ourselves on our fun, contemporary, authentic menu showcasing local produce and international favourites.

You will lead out Food and Beverage team whilst ensuring a smooth operation.  You are a passionate ‘foodie’ with a flair for creativity.  You are guest-obsessed and have built your reputation on delivering exceptional dining experiences with a focus on building a culture of intuitive service that creates memorable moments for our guests.


Job Description

All about the role

A rare opportunity to join and lead the of Mr Good Guy.  A pivotal role in the business, the role reports to the Hotel Operations Manager.  The role will suit someone looking to expand or take the next step in their career.   This is a full-time role that will require flexibility with working mornings, nights and weekends.  A sneak peak of what the role entails:

  • A full-time role, reporting to the Hotel Operations Manager;
  • Ensuring that rosters are compliant with business demands and budgeted manning guides;
  • On-boarding and training of all new and current staff, ensuring support is provided to the team at all times;
  • Bring a creative element to the venue and work closely with the broader team to curate quarterly promotions;
  • Monitor all daily sales, ordering, and costs for the venue;
  • Maximising revenue growth opportunities
  • Work in conjunction with all stakeholders to ensure smooth venue operations and functions;
  • Liaise with the kitchen team regarding menu changes, selling strategies, customer feedback and service issues.

Qualifications

  • A charismatic leader, inspiring the Food & Beverage team to provide our patrons with a genuinely unforgettable experience.  Your leading by example approach will be infectious
  • Experienced with local marketing knowledge in the restaurant industry
  • Highly organised and able to manage day-to-day operations
  • Be a calming influence in the midst of a high pressured, fast paced environment, with the ability to sustain and drive positive morale creating a culture that people want to be a part of
  • Innovative in revenue generation, events and team building
  • Foster positive relationships with other key managers, department heads and stakeholders to meet business needs
  • Have a flexible approach to adapting to guest requests
  • Detail focused with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality service
  • A passionate individual with at least 3 years’ experience in an assistant manager/supervisor role.
