Job Description

Duties:

  • Lead your shift team, with your effective communication skills, and leading by example

  • Share your passion for food & beverage with our upscale guests

  • Assist with on-boarding and training new team members

  • Strive to maintain the highest quality standards in food & beverage

  • Undertake strict hygiene & safety practices and hold responsibility for your shift's financial performance

Detailed description: 

  • Ensure efficient, friendly and professional food and beverage service is provided to all guests.

  • Provide for guests and patrons an experience and environment they feel meets their expectations.

  • Familiarise yourself with VIP and regular guests to ensure their requests and needs are met.

  • Maintain control of restaurant service equipment, correctly recording breakages and carry our regular stock takes.

  • Maintain a weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant to achieve the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.

  • Ensure all mis-en-place is completed prior to guests arriving.

  • Ensure staff are competent in dining menu and wine list knowledge and can maximise sales to guests.

  • Ensure the front-of-house and back-of-house areas are clean and tidy.

  • Ensure guest billing is completed accurately following hotel procedure and that correct charges are posted.

  • Use department procedure manuals as a base for all service procedures training.

  • Properly induct new staff into the team, department and hotel in the first week of their employment.

  • Ensure that all staff under your control carry out their duties in accordance with the service standards and procedures manuals to meet departmental I hotel service standards and brand standards.

  • Effectively use the results of Guest Book and guest questionnaires to improve product and service delivery

  • Openly communicate with staff ensuring regular briefings occur and all relevant information is passed onto staff.

  • Delegate duties so all aspects of the shift are covered

  • Lead by example to maintain good staff morale.

  • Manage staff within performance guidelines outlined in the handbook.

  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the licence conditions held by the premise.

  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol to all guests by staff.

  • Provide efficient, friendly and professional service to all guests.

  • Take initiative to ensure that interactions with our customers (internal or external) are positive and productive.

  • Establish and take all practicable steps to maintain safe working conditions and practices

  • Take a positive problem solving approach with issues and concerns; call the Manager on Duty if difficulties arise.

  • Attend regular meetings with the Restaurant Manager.

30 hours guaranteed 

$29.66 - $31.14

Roster including weekend and public holidays


Qualifications

Work Experience: 

  • 2 years minimum experience in an upscale restaurant environment;

  • LCQ Certificate & wine knowledge;

  • Projects professional image at all times through strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to establish rapport easily;

  • Desire and ability to train and develop staff.
