Company Description

We are looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing to join the opening SLS Playa Mujeres Cancun, All-Inclusive Collection based in Cancun. 

Ennismore, with its luxury brand SLS, is currently undertaking a magnificent all-inclusive project in the oasis that is Playa Mujeres, just north of Cancun, Mexico.  

Introducing the newest gem of dazzling luxury to reach Cancun’s Playa Mujeres area: our all-inclusive hotel offers 500 luxurious keys, complemented by an impressive array of 18 distinct Food & Beverage outlets and a rejuvenating spa sanctuary. Catering to both adults seeking a getaway and families craving connection and some adventure, this hotel brings a wonderland of extraordinary experiences to Cancun, providing an array of amenities and activities tailored for travelers of all ages.

Job Description

Position Summary:
SLS Playa Mujeres is seeking an experienced Director of Sales with a strong background in luxury and all-inclusive hospitality. The ideal candidate will lead strategic sales initiatives, drive revenue growth, and position the property as a top luxury destination in both domestic and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for North America, Mexico, and Europe, maximizing revenue across FIT, MICE, and Destination Wedding segments.
  • Strengthen partnerships with OTAs, consortia, travel agencies, and wholesalers to increase production and market share.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR through effective pricing and segmentation strategies.
  • Coordinate marketing and public relations efforts to ensure consistent brand communication and visibility.
  • Represent the property at trade shows, roadshows, and industry events to promote brand awareness and business development.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Maintain close communication with ownership and senior management on progress, opportunities, and market trends.
  • Partner with F&B and Events teams to support group, banquet, and wedding sales.

 

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Director of Sales role within the luxury or all-inclusive hotel segment.
  • Strong understanding of international markets and key distribution channels (OTAs, consortia, DMCs, wholesalers).
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of key performance indicators such as ADR, RevPAR, MICE Revenue, and Market Share.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Year-over-year room and event revenue growth.
  • Improved market share (MPI) and optimized channel mix.
  • Increase in direct bookings and key account retention.
  • Achievement of team sales goals and employee engagement targets.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English language; ability to speak and present clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical, pro-active and innovative mind
  • Detail-oriented and highly reliable in thorough execution and follow-through
  • High integrity and ability to keep confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing position
  • Pre-opening experience
