A 21-year-old student, Clara is an apprentice at the Novotel Cergy Pontoise (France). Passionate about sports, the young sales assistant shows a great team spirit. Her dream? To pursue her career in the hospitality sector abroad!
How did you hear about Accor?
My grandfather and father worked for the Group for a long time. My grandfather spent a very large part of his career there.
Do you feel that your apprenticeship at Accor has help you grow personally and professionally?
Yes, of course, I couldn't have imagined a better experience for my debut in the work world. I have learned a lot at the hotel.
Tell us about Novotel…
I work for the Novotel Cergy Pontoise (France). Novotel is very attached to the relationship that all employees have with each of their customers. It is a brand that will do anything to offer a service of impeccable quality.
What are your missions and responsibilities?
I take care of the whole seminar part and the realization of events - such as weddings, baptisms, etc... I am in charge of meeting the expectations of the customers as well as possible, from their first request, to their reception on site, until the invoicing part.
What is your best memory since you arrived?
My best memory was my integration into the team with a welcome that was far beyond what I could have imagined. Another striking memory was when I realized that I was becoming autonomous on skills that I had no idea existed before joining the Group.
What do you prefer about your work? About the hospitality sector?
Work with different people and learn from their know-how. But I think that what I appreciate above all is being able to meet my clients' expectations as best as possible and to support them throughout their events.
What made your experience so special at Accor?
The fact that I discovered an environment in which I had never worked before. This has really guided me for my future as I plan to continue my studies in the hotel industry. I also think that the good relations between employees within the Group inspire us to never leave it.
Would you recommend to your friends to do their apprenticeship in the Group?
Yes, I would recommend it at 100%, without hesitation.
What are your projects after your apprenticeship?
After my apprenticeship, I plan to go abroad for a while (Dublin) to improve my English and be able to resume my master's studies upon my return, in the hotel sector.
Would you like to come back one day to work at Accor?
It is really a group in which I have been able to grow both professionally and personally. Without a doubt, I will come back to work at Accor!
