About the Role

As Maintenance Hand/Handyperson, you will assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining the building, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings, using safe working practices, to protect the asset and ensure it remains a functional, pleasant and a safe environment for all guests, visitors and other employees.  Key responsibilities include:

• Assist in the day-to-day operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining swimming and spa pools.
• Repair broken windows, screens, doors, fences, barbecues, picnic tables, shelves, cupboards and other items.
• Repair and paint interior and exterior surfaces such as walls, ceilings and fences.
• Complete daily plant rounds and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.

About you

• Previous trades experience or experience in a similar position will be advantageous.
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi task. 
• Well-presented and able to converse with hotel guests in a professional manner.  
• A quick learner who enjoys learning new skills.
• A team player with excellent communication and engagement skills. 
• Ability to work 5 days per week on a rotating 7 day roster, including after hours, weekends and public holidays.
• You have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
• Current Unrestricted Drivers Licence
