The IT Associate is responsible for providing technical support, managing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting in the maintenance and optimization of IT systems. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide first-line support for end-users experiencing technical issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network problems.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
System Maintenance:
- Monitor and maintain IT systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Perform routine system backups and ensure data integrity.
- Apply software updates and patches as needed.
User Assistance:
- Assist in onboarding new employees with IT equipment and software setup.
- Provide training and support to users on various software applications and IT policies.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of IT support requests and resolutions.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Project Support:
- Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, installations, and rollouts.
- Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies and solutions.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining IT security measures and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an IT support role or similar position.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting.
- Experience with common office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications: (Preferred but not required)
- CompTIA A+ or similar certification.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or similar certification.
