Job Description

What You Will Be Doing:

 

  • Provide hands on support to the Health Club & Spa Front Desk, including booking appointments, checking guests in and out of services, preparing paperwork, assisting with health club memberships and reporting as necessary.
  • Assist in the supervision, operation and coverage of the Health Club and Spa.
  • Oversee staff training in all aspects of the Health Club’s operations including treatment protocols, booking procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Attend to the Health Club facility, ensuring that all safety and sanitation procedures are adhered to.
  • Follow and enforce all departmental policies and procedures, including cleanliness, sanitation and Covid-19 procedures
  • Assist in the recruitment, development and training of all Health Club & Spa staff.
  • Attend weekly and monthly Hotel meetings as needed.
  • In Manager’s absence, make sound and conscious decisions on all operations of Health Club.
  • Assist with product/stock ordering (ie: retail space / spa area / Fairmont Fit).
  • Ensure the establishment and execution of all department goals.
  • Resolve Guest and colleagues problems and complaints in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency.
  • Provide warm, sincere and engaging service that ensures Guests feel valued.
  • Treat each and every Guest as a unique individual.
  • Anticipate Guests’ needs with thoughtful and personal touches.
  • Provide direction and encouragement to colleagues, guests, and members.
  • Tour prospective Health Club Guests and Members show Health Club facility and programs as required, including selling memberships and retail.
  • Identify and promote new business, packages, promotions and marketing opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication amongst all departments within the hotel.
  • Ensure adherence of departmental and facility policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience of 1 year is required
  • 2 years of experience in a Hotel, Spa, or Health Club Environment preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline is an asset
  • CPR and first aid certified is an asset, and/or would be
  • Experience with spa software preferred.
  • Ability to lead a team through effective communication and hands on leadership.
  • Available to work weekends and shift work.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shifts.  May occasionally exert up to 30 pounds lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Visa Requirements: Must have proof of valid U.S. work authorization.
