What do we expect from you?
Mondrian Abu Dhabi is gearing up to be one of the city’s most iconic destinations, and we are looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of People & Culture to lead the pre-opening phase. This strategic leadership role will focus on shaping the organizational culture, aligning talent acquisition, training, employee engagement, and performance management with Mondrian’s unique brand identity. As the Director of People & Culture, you will create a thriving workplace environment that inspires excellence, supports growth, and cultivates a diverse and inclusive team. Your leadership will play a key role in ensuring that Mondrian Abu Dhabi not only delivers exceptional service to our guests but also fosters a vibrant, motivated, and high-performing workforce.
How your day looks like:
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding process to ensure the selection of top talent that embodies Mondrian’s culture and values.
- Design and implement training programs that empower employees to deliver exceptional guest experiences while enhancing their career growth.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives that promote job satisfaction, retention, and loyalty across the organization.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture by encouraging collaboration, creativity, and excellence at all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the alignment of human resources strategies with the hotel’s business objectives and brand vision.
- Develop and maintain a performance management system that supports both individual development and organizational goals.
- Create and oversee employee recognition programs that celebrate achievements and inspire a commitment to excellence.
- Advise leadership on organizational development and people strategies that foster a positive, innovative work environment.
- Ensure that Mondrian Abu Dhabi becomes an employer of choice, renowned for its commitment to employee satisfaction and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all local labor laws, company policies, and regulatory standards, fostering a fair and supportive work environment.
This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and a focus on building a positive organizational culture while driving employee engagement, development, and overall business success.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in People & Culture or HR management, with at least 3 years in a Director-level role, ideally in a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
- Experience working in a truly global work environment is essential.
- Prior pre-opening experience is highly preferred, and scaling a team in a high-profile hotel setting.
- Strong understanding of talent acquisition, training, performance management, and employee relations.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Expertise in creating and driving employee engagement and retention strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws and regulations, with the ability to implement best practices in HR.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to partner with leadership to meet organizational goals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and composure.
