At Fairmont Pittsburgh, an exceptional guest experience begins even before check-in and extends throughout every stay. As a Receiver, the organizational support you provide to the entire hotel team will ensure our departments are well equipped to handle operations and provide a welcoming experience for our guests. This position involves physical labor and repetitive lifting, as you provide all departments with the products needed to run their operation.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.
- Maintain safe, sanitary and secured environment for all locked storerooms. This includes cleaning of storeroom and cooler floors, walls, and shelves.
- Coordinate the movement of goods from the loading dock to storerooms.
- Ensure that all products are received and/or returned according to hotel standards and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all requisitions, purchase orders, deliveries and disbursements. Record and confirm all discrepancies as required.
- Computer work including tracking of packages within a software application. Regular email communication on computer terminals.
- Work with departments on completion of requisitions and properly fill orders as requested
- Communicate discrepancies clearly on invoices or packing slips to ensure Accounts Payable has accurate information for payment.
- Assist Department Heads with purchasing systems as questions arise.
- Ensure that all goods are appropriately requisitioned and recorded before disbursing.
- Contact suppliers to coordinate and correct discrepancies.
- Contribute to a fun, positive work environment for the Accounting Team and other colleagues.
- Assist the Director of Finance and Director of Purchasing with any projects that may arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Qualifications Include:
- Minimum of one year experience in a shipping/receiving department or storeroom is required. More extensive experience in a hotel/luxury environment is preferred.
- Food handling and knowledge of food and beverage products is preferred
- Able to demonstrate the ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Balancing multiple projects and adhering to deadlines is essential.
- Candidate must be highly organized, pay close attention to detail and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to bend and reach, lift and move boxes, push and pull deliveries, and perform other physical activity as required.
- Experience with computers and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Experience with BirchStreet purchasing system is an asset.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Holiday and weekend work is required. Days off will be split, and not consecutive.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and /or up to 25 pounds of force regularly or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Constant standing and walking throughout shifts.
- Repetitive bending, reaching, twisting, and other movements.
- Necessary use of equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and box cutters on a regular basis. Stacking of cases regularly.
Visa Requirements: Must have proof of valid U.S. work authorization.
